This weekend saw the launch of the Angry Birds Activity Park at Lightwater Valley, near Ripon in North Yorkshire. The colourful £1million pound attraction will cover 30,000 square feet with indoor and outdoor attractions dedicated to avian fun.
Aimed at everyone from “toddlers to grandparents”, the largest Angry Birds activity park in the UK will include 25ft high climbing frames, themed beaches and 3D characters.
The brains behind the park is Lappset, a Finnish playground equipment maker, which has made it clear that unlike game-playing, this won’t be a sedentary experience.
National Development Manager Rob Hetherington said: “The parks are a healthy way for the whole family – from toddlers to grandparents – to enjoy the hugely popular Angry Birds theme.
Lappset is very keen to encourage people to get outdoors and get moving and if you can enjoy yourself while doing so, then all the better.”
The UK’s first Angry Birds Activity Park opened at Sundown Adventureland in Nottinghamshire last year. Angry Birds Land also exists inside Sarkanniemi Amusement Park in Tampere, Finland.
