ExtraMile Communications Ltd has been selected as a key partner for a European Union funded project, thanks to the strength of its multi-lingual online marketing services.
The company is to design and develop a web portal in 10 different languages, on behalf of Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council.
They were selected because they bring to the project the online communications expertise needed to create a functional, easy-to-use information resource for users from across Europe.
The project, known as SPiCE3 (Sectoral Platform in Chemicals for Energy Efficiency Excellence), is to promote energy efficiency in chemical companies across Europe, allowing users in member countries to share expertise, resources, technology and knowledge.
ExtraMile Communications’ Managing Director, Gabrielle Hadley, said: “This is a real coup for us and should provide a boost to other small businesses, and give them confidence to pitch for EU contracts.
“There is a perception that this type of project only goes to companies with the right contacts, or those in the major cities, but our success has shown that’s not the case.
“The key thing is to differentiate yourself from other businesses in your sector, as we have done by developing our international multi-lingual online marketing services.”
Much of the SPiCE3 site will be translated into Bulgarian, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, and Swedish.
ExtraMile Communications will also be creating and distributing a regular email newsletter in all 10 languages.
The €1.2m project is to be delivered in partnership with energy consultancy Challoch Energy and NL Agency, a division of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, as well as Cefic and other associations from the member countries.
This major project will enable ExtraMile to take on three or four new members of staff in the next year – having created three new positions in 2012.
Gabrielle Hadley said: “Our turnover has increased by 32% in the past financial year and this project will go a long way towards giving a similar boost this year.
“We must thank the Winning Moves High Growth Programme for their advice and support as it has played a major part in the development of the business.”
